Course Information
Description This course provides a survey of economic systems, forms of business ownership, and considerations for running a business. Students will learn various aspects of business, management, and leadership functions; organizational considerations; and decision-making processes. Financial topics are introduced, including accounting, money and banking, and securities markets. Group Project = 100 points (Assessment)
5 Exams = 500 points
Total = 600 points

Attendance and participation will also be considered for grading purposes. Examinations may be in form of short answer, multiple choice, essay, or oral.
Course Policies
Instructor Policies 1. Students are expected to complete assignments and participate in class discussions.
2. Students are to notify the instructor as soon as practical about an absence.
3. Students are to be respectful and courteous at all times during class.
4. Students are not entitled to make up missed work due to an absence. However, a student may request to makeup work by requesting approval of the instructor and the work is subject to an academic penalty.
Attendance Policy Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. Students are to expected to attend all classes. Students who are excessively absent or tardy will be subject to academic penalty up to and including being dropped from class. Students are to make contact with instructor preferably prior to, but definitely after, an absence. Absent students may make up missed work solely at the discretion of the instructor.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
